I’ve decided to start 2022 off with something I’ve been wanting to do for a while: participate in #52weeksofhome! #52weeksofhomeweek1 focuses on the front door. Here’s what we know so far:
Originally, the porch was not framed. The two sets of French doors leading from the living room and dining room would have been the original front doors. Based on a newspaper clipping I found (shoutout to Newspapers.com), the Lowery family was selling a pair of screened french doors in the Indianapolis Times. I’m just assuming that was when the porch was closed off. And I’m really not sure if they even sold the screened french doors because I found a pair in the attic! Hopefully, someday I’ll be able to cut through the layers upon layers of paint to finally open the porch windows again and turn it into a nice summer sunroom.
